This glider deployment is part of continuing Investigation of Mid-Atlantic Cold Pool Dynamics and phytoplankton spring bloom: The Ocean Glider Component. The mission goal is to measure the seasonal-varying 1km-100km features of the waters that make up the source winter waters for the 2022 Cold Pool and track the beginning of the spring bloom of phytoplankton in the northern Mid-Atlantic Bight. Glider Blue is equipped with a CTD, a WETLabs Scientific 3-channel puck to measure chlorophyll-a, backscatter (700nm), and CDOM and an Aanderaa 3830 oxygen optode. The planned glider trajectory is to zig-zag southwestward along MAB; starting from the Southern New England Bight region to be recovered off New Jersey over the approximately 35-day mission.
